Many Americans attribute limited diversity of the STEM workforce to a lack of encouragement
for girls and minorities to pursue STEM from an early age. Similarly, the AAUW (American
Association of University Women) states that girls and women are systematically tracked
away from science and math, thereby limiting their training and options to explore STEM-
